Tofu's not on the menu, but they'll gladly make you a General Tso's (and probably whatever else you want) with tofu. The texture is right, not too spongy or too firm, and without the hard, crunchy outside that some lesser Chinese takeout places have on their tofu. We go there at least once a month. The lunch specials are the killer deal here. You can get a big meal with either an egg roll or a can of soda for less than five bucks, and have enough left over for dinner. You can't get two meals at McDonald's for that price. The combination of excellent quality and low price make this the best Chinese takeout in town.

I am always apprehensive when ordering Chinese when traveling because you never know what you are going to get...I am from NJ and we have some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. However I was pleasantly surprised. The food here was very good. We got a variety of dishes including the Singapore Mei fun which was some of the best I have had in a long time.(because now I live in NC) Delivery service was prompt and prices were reasonable. If I return to Daytona I would definitely eat here again.

This is hands down the best Chinese take-out I've ever had. It is very inexpensive, delicious, and the employees are super sweet. I order the honey chicken practically every time, along with white rice and a side of garlic sauce. I LOVE their garlic sauce and I've yet to find it at any other Chinese place I've ordered from. I eat here every time I visit Florida.

Great food choices. Good prices. Have the food made how you like it. Meat & dairy disgusts you? Substitute with tofu! Been coming here for 5 yrs & it's still my fav Chinese takeout. Just one issue- the weird Asian guy at the counter can never get an order right, even after 5 yrs lol. Always get the older lady to take your order & you'll be happier.

Great lunch special everyday until 330. They will sub. tofu in any dish and they give you tons of food.

Delivery! And the food was fantastic! - We were in Daytona for the 500 and had gotten rained out. We were cold, wet and hungry, so when we got back to our vacation rental we wanted something hot and filling. - I found China House here on Yelp and then found their website - chinahousehh.com - and we just picked a couple of our usual favs, sweet and sour pork, and general's chicken. The combination platter was a great way to go. Each came with pork fried rice and an eggroll (big yummy eggrolls!) We also ordered a side of hot and sour soup which turned out being one of the best versions I've ever tasted - it was full of mushrooms and other tasty things. - Great food, service and affordable pricing.

The best Chinese restaurant I've eaten anywhere within a 40 mile vicinity of this side of town! Ordered spring rolls, steamed dumplings, pork fried rice, boneless spare ribs, bourbon chicken and Singapore mei fun. Everything was delicious! Bourbon chicken wasn't too sweet, you could actually taste the bourbon flavoring, and none of the meat was too fatty. Delivery was promised within 45 minutes, and was delivered in less time. Stumbled upon this place, but will forever be ordered from here! Definitely impressed!!!!!!

Great food great prices. We go once a week and they NEVER get our order wrong....my boyfriend is picky. No carrots no scallions, they are the best I have found. And I have been here for 43 years. Thanks for being consistent. We truly love your food...Cris E

You'll be a fan of China House, with its friendly employees, fresh ingredients, cleanliness, and tasty food! I am definitely a fan! I often get the Singapore Mei Fun, extra spicy. It's so good. And it's enough for three servings! They are also really good at preparing large, accurate orders for take out! It's my number one spot for Chinese American take-out when I'm in the area.

The best part about China House is that they will customize your order to your liking, whether you prefer a meatless dish, spicy, or not so spicy, they will prepare it the way you want it, every time. One of my favorite menu items is the Singapore Mei Fun, its a spicy entree, but its delicious. They also have some of the best Hot and Sour soup that I've had locally. They also offer a great weekly lunch menu which comes with a soft drink as well. It used to be $3.99 but has went up to $4.99. But, its still worth it for the amount of food that you get.

TERRIBLE. Worst place to get Chinese food in Florida. Took an hour and 30 minutes to get food delivered when they quoted us 30 mins but they made the driver wait for two other orders to come up so by the time the food got to our house it was soggy and not even edible! A WASTE OF MONEY THATS ALL THIS PLACE IS!!!!!

I don't live close enough for delivery so when I'm in the mood for Chinese takeout I drive all away cross town to pick it up here. I've taken my chances on others closer to me, but it's not the same quality. It's just a little hole in the wall in a strip mall, but it's very clean, the food is always fresh and tasty and it's more than reasonably priced. If you like your food spicy be sure to ask for the little containers of house made hot mustard and chili oil.

Ordered out for delivery.... The person who took our order over the phone was very nice and patiently answered all of our questions. Our order showed up at the door quicker than promised. The delivery person was very pleasant. Thanks to the Yelp Community because we chose this restaurant based on your glowing comments. We concur! Wow! Try the House Special Soup. Yummers. Very tasty broth with fresh veggies, shrimp, pork, and chicken. We also had the Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce, (Shrimp were quite large.) and Beef w/Broccoli combo dishes. Definitely not skimpy on the meat or veg. They do levy a very small delivery charge of $1.99. So worth it.

Absolutely LOVE this place!! I've done pick up and delivery. They are always super polite, quick delivery and my food is always fresh and hot. I'm one of those "find your fav entree and stick to it" kinda person so I get the same thing every time; sweet/sour chicken, white rice and spring rolls. Always on point! The delivery guy is mad cool! He always remembers me from delivering to me when I was in the hospital!!! lol. Anyway, as I stated previously love, love, love this place & highly recommend it!

Just had China House for the first time since moving to the area in May. While they are courteous and fast, the food is very bland and unmemorable. The general tso's chicken was cooked well but had no spice and again bland. Krab Rangoon had very little filling, over cooked and the filling again was bland. Shrimp eggroll had mostly cabbage and I think 2 little shrimps. Fried dumplings were very big, but the sauce was off. It wasn't aweful or terrible, it was just...eh. From what I saw, it looks like they use alot of frozen product which may be why it's all very bland covered in sauce. Will try somewhere else next time.

Some of the friendliest employees I've ever met. They seem like old friends when I go back to visit. The vegetables are always fresh and crisp. The food is exceptionally cheap and fast. You can have an excellent, healthy meal for $4. I've never had a bad experience at China House, and this was my daily lunch when I worked in the neighborhood. Can get busy during peak hours, but I've never experienced a wait over 15 minutes. Looks like your standard Chinese take out joint-- counter service, picture menu on the wall, and an extensive take out menu. A few tables for those that choose to eat in. But the quality is far above average. This has become the standard by which I judge other Chinese restaurants. I really miss this place. For all it's faults Daytona has some excellent budget food.

Good food and big portions. Would like a wider menu like noodles with variations. Service and pricing was great. I asked for their house mustard rather than the familiar packaged stuff and expected a good, nasal passage opening hot mustard, but not so. Some kind of very watered down stuff. The packaged mustard would have been a better choice for my requirements. Good place. I hope they read the reviews. I'll be back at least once a week. Win from Boston.

Grew up eating Chinese food in NYC and this little place is legit. For $5.45 I got a good sized portion of Kung Pao chicken and pork fried rice, and that includes a can of soda. The chicken was moist and fresh, it was loaded with vegetables (and MSG maybe) and the rice was light and tasty without too much soy. I was feeling a little wild so I got myself an egg roll for $1.20, and it was crunchy and tasty and loaded with pork. This is a strip mall lunch spot, not a date place. PF Chang definitely wouldn't approve, although I'm not too sure they're a fan of his either. The open kitchen here speaks no English (and no Spanish either) Take out is fast and friendly, but make sure you ask for the home made hot mustard and chili oil. They're insanely good.

Solid, flavorful food. I read the reviews trying to decide if this was rated highly because it's good or because it's cheap and it's actually both. Don't expect crazy stuff but you'll be satisfied.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
